ILIP100 - Information Literacies Introductory Program (ILIP100): Carol Stiles
ILIP100 aims to enable all undergraduate students to attain minimum level of information literacy skills at the commencement of their first year of study. These skills are concerned with the ability to locate, use and evaluate information effectively and are part of the profile of a University of Wollongong graduate.
ILIP100 is compulsory for all undergraduate students and should be completed within the first six weeks of session. This ILIP100 class will provide you with the skills to: search the Library Catalogue; interpret reading lists; and use the Reserve Collections
Study Skills - Introduction to Student Services: Jeannette Stirling
An introduction to the range of programs and services designed to assist you with your studies and help you progress through your degree. The session will provide an overview of web-based learning development resources and face-to-face workshops. It will also present some useful time management and study strategies.
Learning Online: Brad Davis
Students are introduced to the University’s online learning resources. The session includes an introduction to using the Internet for study purposes, the University’s Student Online Services, Electronic Mail and Online Subjects. It also includes a hands-on look at WebCT - the online system used to distribute subject notes, handouts, and facilitate class discussions. This session caters for students of all levels of computing ability.
Campus Life: Robbie Collins
Gain an insight into life as a university student and your involvement in developing campus life; learn what the University of Wollongong provides you as part of your experience being a student at the Shoalhaven Campus. Part of this session will include question time with current students studying at the Shoalhaven Campus.
This session includes an introduction to the after-hours facility which allows 24x7 student access to the computer laboratory in the Library.
