Question
My subject outline requires me to read certain books
and journal articles, where can I get these books and
articles?
Answer
Some books will be available for purchase through the
University Bookshop. Your subject coordinator (or lecturer)
will have organised with the Bookshop for books to be
available. By using the computers and Web at the Access
Centres you can connect to the University Bookshop at
http://unishop.uow.edu.au
The books relevant to your subject can be ordered through
the Web. Should you have any problems with this process,
the Coordinator at the Centre will assist you - otherwise
contact the Unishop on phone number 42-21-8050.
Books recommended by the lecturer of your subject will
be available through the Library located at the Shoalhaven
Campus Library, the Eurobodalla Shire Council Library
in Batemans Bay, and the Bega Valley Shire Council Library
in Bega. Recommended texts are usually located in the
Reserve Collection of the Library.
Journal articles can be located through the various
full-text databases available through the University's
Library website at http://www-library.uow.edu.au/.
Using this on-line facility you will be able to download
and save journal articles on to your own disk. You may
decide to print out the journal from your own disk or
save the articles so you have an electronic copy instead
of masses of photocopied articles.
If you have any problems in relation to Library books,
please check first with the South Coast Librarians.
Using Library facilities is a skill all new students
need to learn and maintain throughout a university career.
